Epoch
Terms of Use
Last updated 14 September 2026
Who can play
Epoch is intended for users aged 13 and older. By using Epoch you confirm that you are at least 13.
The licence
Epoch is licensed, not sold, to you. Your use of Epoch is governed by Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, and by the Epoch-specific terms on this page.
Profiles
Epoch creates an anonymous profile for you, and you can optionally save it with Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for what happens under your profile on your devices. You can delete your profile at any time in Settings; deletion is permanent for your Epoch game history.
Progression is not property
XP, levels, rank, rating, placements and other progression are game features, not money or property. They have no cash value and cannot be sold or transferred. Epoch may correct progression that was produced by bugs, cheating or abuse.
Multiplayer
Online play depends on network conditions. Matches can be affected by disconnects and timeouts; the result recorded by Epoch's server is authoritative, and a match abandoned mid-game may be recorded as a forfeit. Epoch does not promise that an opponent or an online service will always be available.
Display names and conduct
Your display name is visible to the other players in your matches. Names must not be offensive, hateful, sexual, threatening or impersonating, and a name that breaks these rules may be rejected or reset. Do not cheat, exploit bugs for advantage, disrupt Epoch's online services or other players' games, or attempt unauthorised access.
Reports, blocks and moderation
You can report or block other players from a match. Epoch may review reports and take proportionate action, including resetting a display name that breaks the rules and correcting progression gained through abuse.
Epoch Infinite
Epoch Infinite is an auto-renewing subscription, offered as a monthly or an annual plan. It unlocks the Thematic decks, Pass & Play for three to eight players, and hosting the Online Table, Live and Battle Royale modes. Everything else in Epoch — including Practice, the Daily challenge, Endless and two-player Pass & Play — is free, and joining an online game someone else is hosting never requires a subscription.
Payment and renewal
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The price, currency and billing period Apple shows you at the moment of purchase are the ones that apply. Payment card details never pass through Epoch.
The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and Apple charges the renewal within the 24 hours before each period ends.
Managing, cancelling and refunds
Your subscription is managed by Apple, not by Epoch. You can view, change or cancel it in your Apple Account settings at any time. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's own rules.
Manage subscriptions in your Apple Account
If you reinstall Epoch or move to another device, Restore Purchases on the subscription screen brings an active subscription back. If access does not reattach after a restore across profiles, contact support.
Availability and changes
Epoch may add, change or retire features, and online services may be temporarily unavailable. If these terms change, the updated version ships with a new release and the date above changes with it.
Content and attribution
Epoch's design, writing and artwork are protected by copyright. Attribution and source information for historical imagery is available in Image Credits inside the app.
Disclaimer and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Epoch is provided as is, and liability for matters outside Epoch's reasonable control is limited. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes rights that mandatory consumer-protection law gives you in your country of residence.
